Renaissance Fair-Camp Richardson 2011
The Elizabethan Royal Court will reign supreme for two festive weekends in Tahoe!
The 19th annual Valhalla Renaissance Faire returns to Lake Tahoe’s Camp Richardson June 4th – 5th & 11th – 12th. The festivities will feature historical reenactments, six stages of continuous entertainment, a live joust, and hundreds of one of a kind crafts to browse. More information on Valhalla Fair
This year’s theme is the search for Shakespeare’s muse. Watch as he searches through the Elizabethan village for inspiration for his next royally proclaimed play. Watch Shakespeare’s plays come to life on the stage. Dance to musical performers. Be enraptured by The Bard’s Cloak of Tales, amazed by the steps of The Merry Praynksters, and thrill in the rhythms of the Ottoman trader’s belly dancers. All while you eat giant turkey legs, fresh kettle corn, and other tasty delights. Then wash it all down with mead, ale or wine.
Over 900 costumed entertainers, 100+ shopkeepers and artisans will add to the ambiance of the faire. There will be a wide array of arts and crafts including one of a kind jewelry, woodcraft, ceramics, weapons, clothing and accessories. And to top it all off, a hard hitting joust!.
The weekends are themed for your enjoyment.
Midsummer Night’s Dream: The first weekend is geared more toward the younger and family audiences. Magical Creatures will throng through the crowds, enchanting your imagination. Help us inspire Shakespeare with your amazing costume and enter in to the Costume contest, then participate in the fantasy Scavenger Hunts.
Invasion! : Pirate and Barbarian Hordes invade the festivities on the second weekend. This weekend is geared towards the adult audiences. Let loose and have a jolly good time while you participate in Scavenger Hunts, Costume contests, and a Talk Like a Pirate Competitions.
