Don Souers was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA where his goal, from age 10, was to find a better place to live. Prior to his “planned escape,” he met and married high school sweetheart, Theresa Walston. In 1978, they moved and settled into Eureka, CA where they enjoyed a life on the ocean and amidst Redwood trees. While employed with United Parcel, Don pursued his passion for fishing, hiking and exploring. After 17 years in Northern California, UPS transferred Don to South Lake Tahoe where he held the position of center manager. Having always had a dream to be in the Southern Sierras, this transfer was a gift. During the first few years in South Lake Tahoe, Don’s wife began a career in real estate and he began to learn the trade through osmosis. During the early 1990′s, Don was given notice that he was being transferred once again. This was not such welcomed news. He had one daughter in high school and another getting ready to start. It seemed as though the kids had just settled in following the last transfer. The family had long conversations in regards to the future and as a result, Don made the decision to leave UPS, join Theresa in the real estate business and start all over

The partnership was ideal as Don and Theresa each expanded their individual skills and soon became one of the area’s most successful and recognized real estate teams. Together they reached national recognition in their production and service levels and put both children through college. In 2006, Don and Theresa joined their long- time business associates to open the Pinnacle Real Estate group. Don continues to find a balance between a career he loves, his passion for the outdoors (hiking, skiing, fishing, canoeing . . .,) his family and his granddaughter. All in all, it’s a great life.
