Country Club Estates
Whether one calls it Country Club Estates or Elk’s Club, they are referring to one of the neighborhoods in South Lake Tahoe benefitting from new construction, multiple easy access and ambience. Despite the name of the neighborhood, there are no HOA’s or country clubs. The name of the area refers to many of the streets being named after well-known golf courses.
During the “boom” years, the larger view lots drew attention to builders seeking to maximize the then current market trends. As a result, many of the homes found throughout the area were built after 2000, bringing the overall values up. Although the average and median home prices reported for 2009 were lower due to short sales and foreclosures, the Country Club Estates/ Elks Club neighborhood continues to maintain a higher than average home value. Along with the many newer, larger homes found throughout the Country Club/Elks Club neighborhood, one can also find smaller, older and very affordable homes.
Those residing in the Country Club Estates/Elks Club area will boast of its ideal location. Whether one is heading toward the beaches along Emerald Bay Rd (Hwy 89), Hope Valley, Kirkwood and Sierra At Tahoe ski resorts, or the Stateline area with Heavenly Valley skiing, easy access is provided via main access roads leading into and out of this neighborhood. Best of all, the majority of the homes are located along sloping lots providing views of the Crystal Mountain range and the local favorite, Mt. Tallac.
The lots in the Country Club Estates/Elks Club tend to be generally larger and provide a secluded environment. Some of the homes also feature views of the Truckee River and the Lake Tahoe Golf Course. Outdoor enthusiast will enjoy cross country skiing, hiking and biking along nearby trails and those that enjoy swing golf clubs will appreciate the close proximity to two nearby courses, Lake Tahoe Golf Course and Tahoe Paradise Golf Course. Another strong attribute found throughout the area are the number of homes adjacent to National Forest and State Conservancy land.
